About Us

MN Cars & Coffee was founded in 2008 by Luis Fraguada and Tyler Christopherson. After returning from a stint in Arizona, Luis reunited with his best friend and fellow car enthusiast Tyler, and together they decided to create “MN C&C” to organize a local gathering of car enthusiasts that share their love of automobiles.

Luis and Tyler created C&C to unite the local car community with an event that appeals to every motor-head.  We are fortunate to have some good car shows in the area, but they tend to be a specific marque or genre of automobile. They wanted to create a car show that features EVERYTHING:  Italian Exotics, American Muscle, British Classics, Japanese Tuners, and many more can be seen each month at the shows.

The event started at a small coffee shop in Minnetonka with only 35 cars. Word spread quickly, and by August there were over 200 cars. The huge success of the event necessitated a move to a large garage complex in Chanhassen. The show had grown to over 1,000 show cars and 10,000+ spectators each month. The show had quickly become the nation’s premiere monthly car event, and is still the largest event of its kind!

Now in 2017, after nine years at the previous location, MN C&C is moving to Canterbury Park in Shakopee. This new venue will allow us to DOUBLE the amount of show cars AND attendance each month. The show’s hours will still be 8AM-11AM, and will also feature (6-8) food trucks each month, so come hungry!

The events are rain or shine, so dress appropriately.

Lastly, it’s important to them that the event is FREE to the participants and spectators.  It’s important that ANY car enthusiast can enjoy the show without having to pay to do so.

Giving back to the community is important to Luis and Tyler. Each year, they host a variety of charitable events. For example, every June, The Kannonball Fun Charity Rally begins its route at MN C&C. Teams depart the show and embark on a 300 mile journey to raise money for a local school, Northern Voices, and each July, the organizers host a canned food drive and get local car clubs to compete against one another for the most donations.

Luis and Tyler’s passion for the automobile industry began long before they can remember.  From Hot Wheels and slot-cars, to sports cars and track days, they live and breathe cars. Please join them at the next event and share in their passion.

We’ll see you there!
